Member of Parliament from the Servant of the People party, Vladlen Nekliudov, during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada, proposed banning children’s access to Roblox in Ukraine. He stated that the platform fosters hatred and gaming addiction among children.
“This is a gaming platform popular among younger children and teenagers which, unfortunately, contains a number of games promoting violence, war, promiscuity, and the spending of money by minors on the platform. As a result, children develop hatred and gaming addiction. There have been identified cases where constant gaming on the Roblox platform has disrupted children’s daily routines and sleep patterns, which can lead to serious consequences.”
Nekliudov believes this leads to children losing interest in studying and showing disrespect toward their parents.
“This problem is another consequence of the introduction of martial law in Ukraine and the ongoing active hostilities, when parents tried to distract their children from the horrors of war by allowing them to use gadgets, social media, and online resources more frequently. However, using the Roblox gaming platform has had and continues to have the opposite effect.
Children become accustomed to violence and are drawn into illegal activities, prostitution, gambling addiction, drug abuse, fraud, and so on. All of the above contributes to the growth of latent crime among children, which in turn may soon lead to an increase in crime rates among the younger generation, the destruction of the Ukrainian nation, and the moral degradation of youth.
For my part, I have already sent parliamentary inquiries to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the leadership of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the Security Service of Ukraine for a comprehensive review of the issue, verification of the stated facts, and involvement of relevant central executive authorities — the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation.”
It is worth noting that Natus Vincere have earned the most prize money among all clubs in CS throughout history.
