It finally happened — we will see NaVi in the final of a major tournament. Yes, Vitality and Falcons aren’t participating, but that doesn’t diminish the achievement at all. It’s worth noting, however, that their path to the final wasn’t easy.
In the semifinals, NaVi faced their former academy roster, which now competes under the FUT Esports tag. It was a battle of makazze against his former teammates — launx and iM — for the top Romanian spot in Counter-Strike. It seemed like it could be an easy walk for NaVi’s main roster, especially after the first map, Mirage, where NaVi won 13:4.
Then came a back-and-forth on picks. FUT made an incredible comeback from 4:8, taking Ancient 13:11 and forcing a third map. From that point, it was clear that nothing would come easy. Dust2 was also close for a while, with the first half swinging back and forth. But eventually, NaVi regrouped and closed out the former academy players 13:7.
This will be NaVi’s first final in almost two years. The last time they reached a final was in 2024 at IEM Rio 2024, which they won against MOUZ.
