PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 in Counter-Strike 2 kicks off on October 24 in Bucharest. Ukrainian organization NAVI will begin its campaign at the tournament with a match against G2, featuring Ukrainian AWPer Artem “r1nkle” Moroz.
PGL Masters Bucharest will be one of the most important tournaments of the autumn season. The competition will take place from October 24 to 31 in Romania, with 16 teams competing for a $1.25 million prize pool. HLTV describes the tournament as the final tier-one LAN event before the VRS ranking deadline for invitations to the PGL Major Singapore 2026.
NAVI's first opponent will be G2. The match will take place on October 24 at 7:00 PM Kyiv time.
The matchup is particularly interesting because G2 features Ukrainian AWPer Artem “r1nkle” Moroz. This means the tournament will begin with a kind of Ukrainian derby.
HLTV highlighted this matchup among the key games of the opening day of PGL Masters Bucharest.
For NAVI, the tournament is particularly important because of the fight for positions in the VRS ranking. The results in Bucharest could have a significant impact on the situation ahead of the deadline for qualification for the Singapore Major.
The tournament will feature 16 teams. Twelve received invitations based on the VRS ranking, while four qualified through regional qualifiers — Nemiga, Liquid, DENDELE and TYLOO. The only team from the top 13 of the ranking that declined to participate was Falcons.
In the opening stage, the teams will compete in a Best-of-3 Swiss system. The eight best teams will advance to the playoffs, where a single-elimination bracket will begin. The grand final will be played in a Best-of-5 format, while a third-place match will also be held.
Other participants include Spirit, Vitality, FURIA, MOUZ, Aurora, The MongolZ, Liquid, Legacy, BETBOOM, 9z, FUT, Nemiga, TYLOO and DENDELE.
The total prize pool for PGL Masters Bucharest is $1.25 million. The winner will receive $225,000 in prize money for the players and another $225,000 for the organization. Second place will earn $100,000 each, while third place will receive $68,750 each for the players and the club.
However, for many teams, the main motivation will not be the prize pool alone. The tournament is the final major LAN opportunity to earn VRS points before November 2, when the qualification period for PGL Major Singapore 2026 ends.
For NAVI, the Bucharest tournament will be another opportunity to improve its position and move closer to securing a spot at the Major.
The Ukrainian team will take its first step on October 24 at 7:00 PM, when it faces G2 and Artem “r1nkle” Moroz.
