Firefly Studios has shared exciting news for fans of classic real-time strategy games. Following the successful releases of the remastered versions of Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader, the developer is preparing to unveil the first completely new entry in the franchise in many years.
A newly released teaser showcases a picturesque medieval English castle, where studio head Nick Tannahill opens a scroll and announces that the debut trailer for the next Stronghold game will premiere on June 7 during the PC Gaming Show.
The studio also teased players with several possible settings for the upcoming title, including fantasy, a post-apocalyptic world, space, and Ancient Rome. While the Roman setting currently appears to be the most likely option, official details remain under wraps until the showcase.
Before the recent remasters revitalized interest in the series, Stronghold had largely faded from the spotlight. Fans are now hoping that this brand-new installment will breathe fresh life into the beloved strategy franchise and mark the beginning of a successful new chapter.
