Red Bull Media House has launched a special edition of its Game Pop Bulletin magazine featuring a fully playable version of Tetris встроєну directly into the cover — as thin as a sheet of paper.
A real flexible display and ultra-thin electronic components have been integrated into the magazine’s pages. Thanks to this technology, readers can play a fully functional version of Tetris right on the cover.
The project is the result of a collaboration between The Tetris Company and Red Bull. It continues their large-scale partnership that began last year with a gaming tournament, the финал of which took place at the iconic 150-meter frame-shaped building Dubai Frame in Dubai.
Although this technological innovation is impressive, it has already sparked some debate. Some experts and online users have raised concerns about the environmental impact of such a solution. Since the magazine contains electronic components and rare-earth metals, questions have emerged about the difficulty of recycling it and the overall practicality of creating “single-use” gadgets in paper format.
It is also worth noting that Warner Bros. is planning to release a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy alongside a TV series adaptation.
