Rockstar Games is reportedly taking radical measures to prevent information leaks about GTA 6. Sources claim the company is deliberately spreading false information both internally and externally in order to identify potential leakers and protect its investments.
According to TechSpot, Rockstar employees have been instructed to maintain complete silence regarding the game’s development. Combined with the intentional circulation of fake details, this strategy significantly strengthens the company’s internal security.
The move follows a major 2022 incident in which hackers leaked more than 90 videos and screenshots from an early build of GTA 6, revealing key gameplay and story elements long before the planned reveal.
Such an approach creates uncertainty around any unverified claims, making it increasingly difficult for outsiders to distinguish fact from fiction.
Insiders such as Reece Reilly and Ghost of Hope have confirmed that the company occasionally seeds false information specifically to “bait” individuals who share confidential data.
Earlier, it was reported that a Ukrainian lawmaker proposed banning Roblox in Ukraine.
