Serhiy Hryhorovych Discusses New Game S.T.R.A.N.G.E.R. and Lawsuit Against NAVI Owner

Ukrainian developer Serhiy Hryhorovych gave an extensive interview to blogger OLDboi. During the conversation, he shared details about his new project, commented on the future of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise, and spoke about ongoing legal proceedings regarding trademark rights.

The main topic was Hryhorovych's new major project titled S.T.R.A.N.G.E.R. The game is not a third installment in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and is currently in the prototype and design document phase. A new team has been assembled for the development, featuring veterans of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Unreal Engine specialists. Meanwhile, a portion of the former team is currently working in the military technology sector.

Key features of S.T.R.A.N.G.E.R.:

According to Hryhorovych, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 completely turned a profit even before its official release. This was made possible thanks to a deal with Microsoft, whose payout for Xbox console exclusivity exceeded the game's total development budget.

During the interview, Hryhorovych also addressed intellectual property rights and legal disputes:

• Conflict with Maksym Krippa: The developer confirmed an ongoing legal conflict. While details remain non-disclosable due to an NDA, the case is moving to arbitration due to the lack of full payment settlement.
• "Cossacks" franchise: Hryhorovych stated that the trademark belongs to him and that he is preparing to defend his rights in court.
