FURIA coach Sid sidde Macedo talked with Players special correspondent Sofiia Pikhalo straight after FURIA win against Aurora.
Congratulations for you and your team and I really want to have questions about how can you rate today's games against Aurora and which moments were key to securing the win?
Today I think we played close to our best level, I was talking to Marek after the game and I felt like we played close to the level we showed in our run in Asia last year where we won't change in Hong Kong. I felt like we were clicking as a team very well, the preparation that we did helped us achieve that, everyone was communicating to their best, individual level was on point and I think we did very good in terms of playing as a team, so what brought us to the win today was legit playing as a team and being the best we could.
I saw that the best thing you could do for the teamwork is to feed something to KSCERATO, what happened that he was such a beast?
I mean he promised me a birthday gift so he said he'll have one of these games for my birthday so I'm just happy about it, happy for him, he's been preparing so well and getting his confidence back and I'm happy for him.
Then next one, how do you feel about the arena and the crowd because we changed place from the Katowice to Krakow and could they actually outcheer the Spodek arena?
Well I'm gonna tell you, I've never played in Katowice and I've played in other big arenas and this one looks as nice as the other ones, this looks very cool, people are being amazing here, we could hear the noise and they were cheering for us, I felt like, so that's always good and the arena looks beautiful, from the stand there where we play in the booth it looks very nice from far, it's a very beautiful arena, I'm happy that we get to play here.
Molodoy looks also really strong today and is he fully recovered now?
Well I didn't hear him complain today, I think he's fully recovered, I mean he's been sick for some days now, we've been trying to take good care of him with medicines and good care so he could get his health back and he was feeling good today, he was telling me that he didn't see a lot of people so the game didn't go the best for him. So yeah he's feeling better, let's get him ready for tomorrow, we have a big game coming.
About tomorrow, what did you get from this match to tomorrow, what outcomes or some moments?
I feel like now we have an excellent example of the level we can play, it's always nice when you come to the arena game and play like this because it actually builds up a lot of confidence, it's kind of like telling yourself you can play very well, you can be very good, so after a game like this we just need to look at each other and sayhey we can do it, you guys know the level you can play and we need to prepare for the opponent because they're very good, you know how good Spirit can be and from today we're going to bring this confidence, this team play, this feeling of we can do it.
Last year your record against Aurora was 3-2 in your favor and now you're starting with wins, how important is it for the team, for you to maintain this streak?
For us it's very good, they are very good opponents, they changed players right now and whenever you change a player you kind of have that honeymoon and they're playing really well with this new lineup, they won against MOUZ and Falcons which are very good teams, they put up a great fight against Vitality and it's always nice to play against those guys, we like them a lot and they have a very unique play style and it's very good to play against them, we feel like we always learn a lot playing against them, so I mean if we can win and also learn we can't complain.
So what's next, what's for today and for tomorrow?
Okay for today we have a lot of work to do ahead of our match against Spirit, we need to prepare the best we can, they did a very good showing in the group stage, they beat very good teams and they played solid CS, we know they have the new IGL now, I mean they are, I don't know if they are the same level as they were before because I haven't played against them but I know they're gonna bring a lot of cool things to the game and I'm happy to play against them.
