Konami has unveiled an extensive trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall, featuring nearly 19 minutes of gameplay. The project is being developed by Screen Burn and will tell a completely standalone story while retaining the distinctive atmosphere and familiar elements of the Silent Hill series.
The story takes place on the small, abandoned island of St. Amelia, which is covered in a mysterious fog. The protagonist must explore the eerie streets and buildings, confront terrifying creatures, and gradually uncover secrets connected to his past.
The footage also showcases a portable CRTV television that delivers various messages to the protagonist. At one point, he encounters a dangerous monster and attempts to avoid it by hiding behind cover. However, the confrontation eventually becomes unavoidable, forcing him to fight the creature with a stick.
A later sequence shows the town engulfed in blood-red fog, with the protagonist using a revolver to fend off multiple monsters. Overall, the game appears to deliver a dark and tense atmosphere, although its technical presentation does not look particularly impressive at this stage.
Silent Hill: Townfall is scheduled to launch on September 24 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition will be able to start playing two days earlier.
