Slot allocation announced for the Tekken 8 tournament at Esports World Cup 2026

The Tekken 8 tournament will take place at the Esports World Cup 2026. The competition will be held from August 4 to 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

A total of 32 players will compete in the championship for a $1 million prize pool.

As the reigning EWC 2025 champion Lim “Ulsan” Soo-hoon also qualified for the top 8 of the Tekken World Tour (TWT) 2025 Global Finals, the slot distribution has been adjusted as follows:

  • Reigning EWC Champion: 1 slot (Ulsan)
  • Tekken World Tour 2025 Global Finals: 8 slots
  • EVO Japan: 4 slots
  • EVO (Las Vegas): 4 slots
  • EWC Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ): 4 slots
  • Combo Breaker (TWT Master Event): 3 slots
  • SOOP Super Tournament (TWT Master Event): 3 slots
  • The Mixup (TWT Master Event): 3 slots
  • To be announced later: 2 slots

As a reminder, bleed became the first-ever Major champion in 2XKO history.
