Sony Interactive Entertainment has launched a new initiative called The Playerbase, under which selected fans will have their faces scanned and added to the company’s games. The program will begin with Gran Turismo 7.

Fans can apply through the official website by answering questions about their history with PlayStation and logging into their PSN account. Sony will review applications, select finalists for video interviews, and then invite the winner to its Visual Arts studio in Los Angeles for a full-day scanning session.

Each game will adapt the concept to fit its own world. In Gran Turismo 7, the winner’s face will appear in the game as a character portrait. Additionally, the winner will work with a designer to create a custom “Fantasy Logo” and a unique car livery.

Sony stated that other PlayStation Studios titles will follow, although no specific games have been announced yet.

This initiative is not available to gamers located in Ukraine.

Reminder: Esports Awards 2026 is returning to North America.
