StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 has concluded in Barcelona—a four-day LAN tournament with a $500,000 prize pool. Eight teams played for the title in a Double Elimination format, and Vitality and Aurora met in the final.
This year's StarLadder was remembered not only for Vitality's victory but also for Aurora's unexpected performance and one of NAVI's worst results at a tournament of this level. Team Vitality became the champions of StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026, defeating Aurora in the grand final with a score of 3:1.
The French team started the final with a victory on Anubis, Aurora responded on Inferno, but Mirage and Cache went to Vitality. The main star of the deciding match was Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut—he finished the final with a 1.51 rating and received the tournament's MVP title. For Vitality, this trophy was their first since May. It is particularly impressive that on the day of the final, the team played six maps at once: first defeating FURIA in the match to reach the grand final, and then conducting a full Bo5 against Aurora.
While Vitality's victory was not a huge surprise, Aurora's performance can definitely be called the main sensation of StarLadder. The Turkish organization reached the grand final, defeating NAVI and Vitality along the way. The victory over NAVI was especially resounding—Aurora closed the series with a score of 2:0.
And already in the upper bracket final, Aurora met Vitality and won—2:1. For Aurora's updated roster, this was the first grand final after the arrival of kyxsan, Jimpphat, and ash. Ultimately, Aurora took second place and earned $65,000. The team also significantly improved its position in the VRS after the tournament.
Another interesting point was Brazil's representation in the top 4. FURIA reached third place, and MIBR finished the tournament fourth. FURIA lost to Vitality twice, while MIBR fell to FURIA in the lower bracket.
The tournament's biggest disappointment was the performance of Natus Vincere. NAVI came to Barcelona as the reigning StarLadder champions but lost to Aurora in the very first match—0:2. After this, the Ukrainian team got a last chance in the lower bracket but could not utilize it, losing to MOUZ 1:2.
Thus, NAVI finished the tournament in 7th–8th place, receiving $5,000 in prize money. For a team that came to defend its championship title, such a result is unacceptable.
The failure at StarLadder looks even more painful against the backdrop of NAVI's individual statistics. Following the tournament, only b1t and w0nderful finished it with a rating above 1.00. Other players were unable to consistently show the necessary level, and in the last series against MOUZ, the worst rating among NAVI was held by Aleksib—0.79.
w0nderful, who was one of the best in the roster, posted a 1.41 in the match against MOUZ, but even this was not enough for victory. The team again failed to show consistent play with all five members. The situation with the VRS is even more telling. After the unsuccessful performance at StarLadder, NAVI is in only 17th position in Valve's world ranking. Moreover, the Ukrainian B8 and Inner Circle have already overtaken NAVI in the ranking, which until recently seemed almost impossible for a team of this level.
For NAVI, this is no longer a single unsuccessful tournament. The team regularly gets knocked out in the early stages of major competitions and is gradually losing positions in world CS2.
Against this background, the question arises ever more frequently: does NAVI need roster changes?
For now, there are no official statements about substitutions, so it is too early to talk about specific candidates. However, if results do not change, the team's management will have to evaluate not only the individual performances of players but also the effectiveness of the current five overall.
NAVI still has time to correct the situation, but after falling to 17th place in the VRS and being passed by B8 and Inner Circle, the fans' patience is obviously running increasingly low.
