Running With Scissors has announced a new first-person shooter set in the universe of Postal. Offering players a radically different perspective on the series’ infamous events by casting them as one of the victims.

УIn Flesh & Wire, players step into the role of Angel, a young woman seeking revenge against the Postal Dude after surviving his 1997 killing spree. Described by the developers as a «horror first-person shooter», the game focuses on tracking the Dude across the Arizona desert while fighting military forces and confronting Angel’s own traumatic memories.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer that suggests a noticeably more serious tone than the mainline Postal titles. At the same time, the footage hints that the combat system still needs refinement, and the studio’s take on PTSD is likely to spark debate.

Despite doubts surrounding the developer’s track record and its history with provocative releases such as Postal 2, the concept of revisiting Postal’s story from a victim’s viewpoint stands out as an unexpected twist. Flesh & Wire is slated for release in 2027, giving the team ample time to polish the experience. Until then, fans looking for a different but lighter Postal spin can check out Postal Brain Damaged, developed by Hyperstrange.

As a Reminder, Resident Evil Requiem has become the highest-rated game on Metacritic according to players.
