The Ukrainian Dota 2 national team, which consists of some of the Palianytsia players, will not participate in the IESF WEC24, which will be held in Riyadh from 11 to 16 November.

We first contacted the Esports Federation of Ukraine for comments. Eduard Anokhin, Operational Director of the Esports Federation of Ukraine, noted that "the players refused to participate."

Next, we contacted the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine to clarify this information in more detail. In informal communication with representatives of the Ministry, it was found that the application for participation in the World Championship of the national team of Ukraine was received and is currently being processed. The mentioned players were not in it, because they do not have updated military registration documents, which makes it impossible for them to leave the country.

We reached out to Palianytsia team manager Serhii AnahRoniX Bykovsky for official comment, but he declined to comment.

It is worth noting that the belarusian national team, which plays under its flag, also successfully qualified for the IESF WEC24, and Ukrainian national teams (this includes national teams from other sports disciplines, as well as esports) are prohibited from participating in tournaments where representatives of russia and belarus compete and perform under their national flags.
