Developer Wildlight says it failed to attract enough players to sustain its free-to-play shooter Highguard. The game will officially shut down just over six weeks after its high-profile release.
Highguard launched on January 26 following an ambitious announcement at The Game Awards in December. In a statement posted on social media, the developers said they were unable to build a large enough player base to ensure the project’s long-term future. The game’s final update will be released this week.
Highguard will fully shut down on March 12.
As a reminder, FISSURE has canceled its next three tournaments.
