The media continue to actively discuss internal developments at Ubisoft. At the end of January, the company surprised the public by canceling six projects at once, including the troubled Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. It later turned out that the game was fully ready for release, but its quality level offered little hope for success.

The remaining canceled titles had previously been known only in broad terms, but the outlet Insider Gaming has now revealed the full list.

As part of a large scale reorganization, the French publisher has dropped the following games:

  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake — everything that needed to be said about it has already been said.
  • Project Ether — development began in 2019 at Ubisoft Halifax, with some of the work set to be reused in another project.
  • Project Pathfinder, previously known as Project U.
  • Project Crest — an extraction shooter set during World War II.
  • Assassin’s Creed Rebellion — a mobile game released in 2018. In January, Ubisoft shut down the Halifax studio that supported it.
  • Assassin’s Creed Singularity — a new mobile project that was never officially unveiled.

Other sources report that due to budget constraints, Ubisoft also canceled a previously announced project codenamed League, which was intended to become a multiplayer mode for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

ВAt the same time, Ubisoft continues development of Assassin’s Creed Invictus, which resembles either Fall Guys or Fortnite and which, according to sources, makes, «everyone working on it feel sick». Finally, it is worth noting that the French developer remains determined to bring Beyond Good Evil 2 to release. The game has been in development for 18 years, with spending exceeding 500 million dollars.

As a reminder, Insider hints at Resident Evil 10 release window as Capcom aims to avoid long delays.
