Xbox has begun testing free ad-supported cloud gaming among Xbox Insider program members. Development of the free cloud service first became known back in 2025, followed later by internal testing, with the company planning a full public release in 2026.
As part of the test period, Xbox Insiders gained the ability to stream games they already own. Watching ad blocks is mandatory only for free access, whereas subscribers of paid Game Pass tiers are exempt from ads.
