The spy action game 007 First Light by IO Interactive has received its first wave of reviews. Journalists have welcomed the title enthusiastically, with the game earning high scores on major review aggregators:
Many positive reviews describe the project as the best James Bond game to date. Critics praised the game’s 14-hour campaign, highlighting its trademark humor, cinematic action sequences, and romantic storyline.
Reviewers also noted that the developers successfully combined classic mechanics from Hitman with the fast-paced style of modern action blockbusters.
However, some critics pointed out that the developers avoided taking major creative risks or introducing truly unconventional ideas that could have elevated the game even further.
The full release of 007 First Light is scheduled for tomorrow, May 27, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and Series S. Players who pre-ordered the game already received early access today, along with a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition.
The game is also set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 later this summer.
As a reminder, Grand Theft Auto Online may have accidentally revealed a new gameplay mechanic for Grand Theft Auto VI.
