On July 20, 2012, DetonatioN Gaming emerged on the esports map—a Japanese organization that would later become one of the most well-known in the country. Over its 14 years of existence, the club has grown from local rosters to participating in major international tournaments.

In 2016, the organization merged with the team FocusMe, adopting its current name, DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM). It was under this brand that the club gained its greatest popularity on the global stage.

DFM achieved its greatest success in League of Legends. The team repeatedly won the Japanese league (LJL) and regularly represented the region at international Riot Games tournaments, including the Mid-Season Invitational and the World Championship.

Beyond League of Legends, over the years the organization has fielded rosters in VALORANT, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG, Street Fighter, Identity V, and other disciplines, remaining one of the flagships of Japanese esports.
DetonatioN FocusMe became one of the first Japanese organizations capable of consistently competing at the international level. DFM played a major role in drawing global attention to Japan's League of Legends scene, which had long remained in the shadow of leading regions.
Today, 14 years after its founding, DetonatioN FocusMe continues to be one of Japan's most recognizable esports brands and regularly competes in international tournaments, supporting the growth of professional esports in the country.
