Grand Theft Auto 6 fans believe they have spotted another possible reference to the Red Dead Redemption series in one of the game's official promotional images. However, not everyone is convinced, as the community has already spent months dissecting every screenshot and trailer, with many theories turning out to be little more than speculation.
This is not the first time fans have linked GTA 6 to Red Dead Redemption. Back in 2025, players noticed that several weapons shown in the second trailer appeared to be manufactured by Duke, a firearms company well known from Red Dead Redemption 2. That discovery fueled theories that Rockstar's two biggest franchises could share the same universe.
The latest discussion centers on the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolver included with GTA 6's Ultimate Edition. Fans argue that Jason's pose closely resembles Arthur Morgan's iconic stance on the Red Dead Redemption 2 cover artwork. They also point out that GTA lore states Hawk & Little was founded in the 1850s, while Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place in 1899. In addition, many believe the revolver resembles Arthur's signature weapon, while its name could be a direct reference to the famous outlaw.
Others disagree and believe the weapon is actually a callback to GTA: Vice City. They argue it looks much closer to the iconic .357 Equalizer than any firearm from Red Dead Redemption 2. The official description of the premium weapon also supports that interpretation:
«Powerful revolver with classic Vice City stylings sourced from the Vercetti Estate, including palm-tree-etched grips, engraved detailing, and high-performance scope».

Some fans also argue that Jason's stance is far too generic to qualify as an Easter egg. They compare it to GTA 6's first trailer, where a store door featured a sticker of Red Dead Online character Everett Morgan, something many considered an intentional reference because Rockstar would have deliberately chosen that artwork. By comparison, the new promotional image simply shows a character holding a revolver in a common shooting pose, making the alleged reference far less convincing.
Even so, excitement surrounding GTA 6 remains so intense that every newly discovered detail quickly becomes a topic of discussion. Whether Rockstar has hidden numerous references to Red Dead Redemption and its other franchises will only become clear once the game is finally released.
