Alan Wake 2 from Remedy Entertainment has surpassed 3 million copies sold. The studio revealed the milestone in its financial report for the first half of 2026, confirming that sales of the acclaimed psychological thriller have continued to grow after a relatively slow start.

Released in 2023, Alan Wake 2 received widespread critical praise for its atmosphere, storytelling and unconventional presentation. However, its initial sales were modest. Remedy previously announced in February 2025 that the game had passed 2 million copies sold, and the project had finally become profitable by that point.

The game's availability as an Epic Games Store exclusive on Windows PC may have contributed to its slower sales growth. Epic Games published Alan Wake 2 and helped finance its development.

Meanwhile, Remedy is preparing its next major release. Control Resonant has already surpassed 1.5 million wishlists across all platforms. The game is scheduled to launch on September 24, 2026, for PC and consoles.

The original Control has also continued to perform well, with sales previously exceeding 5 million copies.

Control Resonant is particularly important for Remedy following the disappointing launch of FBC: Firebreak. The underperformance of the live service title led the studio to issue a profit warning, while the company's revenue declined by 23.1% over the past six months.

Remedy's new CEO Jean Charles Gaudechon, who took over on March 1, 2026, previously said that Alan Wake and Control “should have sold more”. With Alan Wake 2 now past 3 million copies and Control Resonant attracting strong interest ahead of launch, Remedy is hoping its next major release will deliver another success.

As a Reminder, Big Walk from the creators of Untitled Goose Game surpasses 1 million copies sold.
