ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios has officially confirmed that the game is moving to a live service structure with regular updates arriving roughly every three weeks.
At the same time, the studio is not abandoning major expansions. Instead, there will be fewer large updates, but each one is expected to be bigger and more content-packed. The first major expansion, Frozen Trails, is currently planned for October.
Between those large updates, players will receive smaller patches featuring new content, live events, balance adjustments, and other additions. Embark also clarified that the scale of these updates will vary, meaning not every patch will introduce huge changes.

The first example of the new structure has arguably already arrived with the addition of the trader Ermal and the Rascal grenade launcher. Since that update launched only last week, another noticeable patch could potentially arrive in about two weeks, possibly around June 9.
Leaks and datamines have also previously hinted at upcoming map conditions, weapons, and live events that may appear between the game’s larger six-month expansions.
A new roadmap for the game is also expected soon. According to rumors, it should be far more detailed than the previous roadmap, which disappointed part of the community after the Riven Tides update.
