Fans of Assassin's Creed may soon have their wait over. The rumored Black Flag remake is set to be unveiled very soon.
Back in March, the new Assassin’s Creed franchise lead Jean Guesdon officially confirmed the development of the 2013 pirate action game and announced that the updated version would be subtitled Resynced. Now, the presentation date has reportedly been revealed.
According to ResetERA forum user BlackBate, Assassin's Creed Black Flag: Resynced is scheduled to be shown on April 16. While the source’s credibility is questionable, Insider Gaming and its editor Tom Henderson confirm this date and provide additional details. Rumors suggest the game will release between June and August, with some insiders leaning toward July.

Ubisoft has high hopes for the game. It will be the company’s first major release in 2026 and will test the audience's interest in remakes of older titles. If successful, the project could strengthen the financial position of the French company, which still faces financial challenges.
Insiders also reported that Ubisoft plans to remove all 21st-century Abstergo office sequences, as they were considered tedious. Instead, players will get an expanded storyline focused on Edward Kenway, including several hours of new content such as more insights into Mary Read’s story.
The remake is being developed on the latest Anvil engine version used for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Gameplay will include more RPG elements, like equipment with different stats, and weather effects will play a bigger role. Travel between sea and land will be seamless without loading screens, while the open world will remain the same size, with more side activities appearing in certain locations.
