On June 30, Battlefield 6 will receive update 1.3.3, which will introduce one of the biggest changes to the game’s combat system since launch. Developers stated that the patch will completely overhaul the shooting mechanics and will serve as the first step in a new Battlefield Combat series focused on improving the game’s core gameplay systems.

The biggest change will be the redesigned shooting system. Battlefield 6 will reduce random bullet spread and replace it with unique recoil patterns for each weapon. At the same time, long automatic fire will become less accurate due to increased spread, making short bursts and precise single shots more effective. Developers will also reduce bullet velocity, making weapon differences more noticeable at medium and long ranges.

The update will also introduce a new body damage system. Shots to the arms, legs, and lower body will deal less damage, while headshots will receive a higher damage multiplier. According to the developers, this change will make accuracy more important and increase the impact of player skill during firefights.

Sniper rifles will also receive adjustments. Each weapon will have its one shot kill ranges reviewed, making different sniper rifles stand out not only visually but also through their practical use in combat.

Developers also clarified changes to the time to kill balance (TTK). For automatic weapons in close range combat, the TTK will be around 200-300 ms, similar to Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. The team explained that this approach is designed to keep battles fast paced while still giving players a chance to win difficult fights against multiple enemies.

Update 1.3.3 will only be the first step in a larger Battlefield 6 overhaul. As part of the Battlefield Combat initiative, developers also plan to review the balance of vehicles, gadgets, and other major gameplay systems.
