On August 31, the fate of the last playoff spots is being decided at the BLAST Open Porto 2026 tournament. In the spotlight of Ukrainian fans are three key players: Artem "r1nkle" Moroz as part of G2 Esports, as well as Dmytro "dem0n" Myroshnychenko and Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov, who compete for the Turkish organization FUT Esports. For their teams, this day will be decisive, as a loss means elimination from the tournament.
At 14:30, G2 Esports will face Aurora in a match for a playoff spot. Following a confident 2-0 victory over Natus Vincere, where Ukrainian AWPer r1nkle demonstrated consistent play in crucial areas of the map, G2 have picked up the necessary momentum in the lower bracket.
The clash with Aurora will decide whether the European squad can continue their run in the tournament. The elimination bracket leaves no room for error — the winner punches a ticket to the quarterfinals, while the loser ends their campaign in Porto.
At 19:30, one of the fiercest matches of the day will take place: FUT Esports will play against Team Vitality. The Turkish organization, featuring Ukrainians dem0n and cmtry, is fighting for the right to play on the main stage.
After a tense series against Inner Circle, where dem0n and cmtry proved to be key performers in critical moments of the matches, FUT faces the toughest test of the group stage. Vitality's star-studded roster is considered the favorite, but the team's aggressive playstyle and dem0n's excellent individual form leave FUT with high chances for a sensational playoff qualification.
