Blizzard Entertainment has revealed the next hero coming to Overwatch — Shion, the leader of the Hashimoto clan and an ally of the Talon organization through the Vendetta criminal group. The character will join the game on June 16 with the launch of Season 3. The announcement was made through the cinematic trailer "End of the Line", which showcases her confrontation with Sojourn.
Shion will become the 52nd hero in the game's roster and will belong to the Damage class. The character is portrayed as a figure that is barely human, wearing an oni mask, riding a sleek motorcycle, and wielding dual firearms. Her faction, the Hashimoto syndicate, has long been a rival of the Shimada clan.
Shion’s release is part of Blizzard’s new strategy following the game's relaunch in February, when the "2" was removed from the Overwatch title. The developers promised to introduce one new hero every season, aiming to release a total of 10 new heroes throughout 2026 as part of the franchise’s 10th anniversary celebration.
In addition to Shion, Season 3 will introduce a new map set in Japan that is closely tied to her story. It will become the first non-Stadium map added for standard game modes since the relaunch.
Earlier, all participants of IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3 were confirmed.
