Polish developer Bloober Team, best known for the Silent Hill 2 remake, has officially unveiled Star Trek: Shadow Frontier in partnership with the newly established Paramount Games Studio. The psychological thriller, featuring horror elements, is scheduled for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
The game's protagonist will be Ro Laren, a character known from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard. Actress Michelle Forbes is returning to reprise the role.
According to the story, Ro Laren responds to a distress signal but crashes on an unexplored planet that serves as a vast graveyard of starships. While exploring the infected world and encountering other survivors, she must confront twisted creatures, a hostile ecosystem, and a mysterious entity attempting to take control of her body and mind.
Star Trek: Shadow Frontier marks a new direction for the franchise, combining science-fiction storytelling with psychological horror and survival elements—an area in which Bloober Team has built a strong reputation through its previous projects.
