Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has become only the second game in history to win all five major Game of the Year awards. The only other title to achieve this was Baldur’s Gate 3.
The French RPG had already established itself as one of the most celebrated games of the year, earning multiple accolades including wins at The Game Awards. The historic milestone was secured after taking home the top prize at the BAFTA Game Awards, where it was named Best Game of 2025.
The ceremony took place on April 17, 2026. The game competed against ARC Raiders, Blue Prince, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Ghost of Yotei, and Dispatch. Despite strong competition, Expedition 33 emerged victorious. It also won in the Debut Game category and Best Performer in a Leading Role, with Jennifer English earning recognition for her role as Maelle.

With this achievement, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 secured GOTY titles across all major award shows:
While titles like Elden Ring and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have won several of these awards, only Baldur’s Gate 3 had previously completed the full sweep.
The game has been widely praised by both critics and players for its classic turn based RPG mechanics, engaging story, and stunning art direction.

As a Reminder, The Super Mario film franchise surpasses $2 billion — sequel continues to dominate the box office.
