Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has renewed his partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation, continuing as the Global Brand Ambassador for the Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC 26). The promotional video featuring Ronaldo was published on the event's official social media channels.
As part of his role, Ronaldo will headline major promotional campaigns both before and throughout the tournament. Organizers plan to leverage his global reach of more than one billion followers across multiple platforms to introduce new audiences to esports. The football icon is also expected to spotlight the performances of top players, clubs, and key moments from the competition.
The EWC 26 promotional video also features several legendary figures from esports and competitive gaming:
Ronaldo has supported the Esports World Cup project since its inception. He took part in the event's global unveiling in 2023, attended the tournament's closing ceremony in Riyadh in 2024, and officially became the competition's Global Ambassador in June 2025.
As a reminder, BLAST recently announced BLAST Slam VIII, which will feature an expanded 16-team format and a revamped competition structure.
