Among the day's main matchups are Vitality vs. Lynn Vision, The MongolZ vs. paiN, Astralis vs. NIP, and Legacy vs. MIBR.
Vitality unexpectedly found themselves one step away from elimination. The French squad started with a victory over 100 Thieves, but fell to B8 in the upper bracket and is now forced to fight their way to the playoffs through the lower bracket.
Their opponent will be Lynn Vision, who also lost their upper bracket match against MOUZ. The Chinese team has repeatedly demonstrated that they can create problems for stronger teams, so for Vitality this is far from a formality.
For the French, the match is particularly important considering their status as one of the EWC favorites. Another loss will end their run in Paris, while Lynn Vision will get a chance to continue their campaign against one of the tournament's strongest rosters.
The MongolZ also found themselves in an elimination match after losing to NAVI in the upper bracket. The Mongolian roster enters this encounter as the defending EWC champions — last year the team won the tournament, defeating Aurora in the final.
The MongolZ already have an important history against paiN. At the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, the teams met in the semifinals, where the Mongolians defeated the Brazilians 2-0 and advanced to the grand final.
Now paiN have an opportunity to take revenge, and the stakes are even higher: the winner stays at EWC, while the loser exits the tournament.
Another matchup with a rich history in Counter-Strike. Astralis and Ninjas in Pyjamas were part of the European elite for many years, although today both organizations are going through far from their best periods.
At EWC, Astralis started with a loss to Falcons, after which they beat MIBR. NIP, for their part, defeated Legacy, but fell to FaZe.

Legacy and MIBR are well familiar with each other, and Brazilian teams traditionally face high competition on the international scene. The history of the organization adds a special status to MIBR: it is one of the most famous Brazilian tags in Counter-Strike, which at one time had a legendary roster featuring FalleN, fer, and coldzera.
Legacy is a younger project historically, but the team has already managed to establish itself among South America's strongest representatives. At EWC, Legacy started with a victory over NIP, after which they fell to FaZe. MIBR, following their loss to Astralis, managed to defeat K27.
Now one Brazilian team will continue their performance at EWC, while the other will leave the tournament.
