CD Projekt RED has announced a free Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 inspired by the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The update will launch on October 22 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving shortly afterward.
The patch will introduce new items and features, including content based on the second season of the anime. The developers will share more details about the upcoming additions during a special episode of REDstreams on October 21, streamed on Twitch, YouTube, and Steam. Official patch notes are also scheduled to be published that day.
The update was announced on the same day Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premiered on Netflix. All ten episodes are now available to stream. The new season was created by CD Projekt RED and Japanese animation studio TRIGGER. It tells a standalone story featuring an entirely new cast of characters, returning to the chaos of Night City with a tale of vengeance and redemption.
