The upcoming football simulator EA Sports FC 26 will not feature an official license for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Instead, the developers are preparing a large-scale update featuring their own international tournament mode. The information was reported by Soccer Gaming.

Although EA Sports has yet to reveal detailed information about the console version, new features were discovered on the FC Mobile pages in the App Store and Google Play. The World Cup-inspired mode will be released under the title “The World’s Game” and will include a global tournament of the same name.

The game will receive more than 50 licensed national teams. The first officially confirmed squad is the Brazil national football team, while additional teams are expected to be announced closer to the update’s release.

All national teams will be playable in the following formats:

  • Quick matches with friends
  • Online matches against other players
  • Ultimate Team mode

According to preliminary reports, the console version of EA Sports FC 26 will receive identical tournament functionality.

The “The World’s Game” update for FC Mobile is scheduled to launch next Wednesday. The official release date of the main game has not yet been announced, though the themed update for consoles could arrive simultaneously with the mobile release next week.

As a reminder, the next Super Mario movie may release in 2029.
