Activision has officially announced the next main installment in its military shooter franchise — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The full release of the game is scheduled for October 23, 2026.
According to the official announcement, early access to the single-player campaign will begin on October 16. To gain access, players must pre-order either the Standard Digital Edition or the Vault Edition. The game will launch on Xbox Series X/S, PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders for Nintendo’s upcoming console version will open later this year.
The story of Modern Warfare 4 centers on Private Pak, a young South Korean soldier who experiences real combat for the first time. What begins as a routine mission quickly escalates into a full-scale military invasion by North Korea. At the same time, the iconic character Captain Price returns as an outlaw and exile. Seeking revenge, he sets out to obtain a powerful weapon, but his actions unintentionally trigger a conflict far larger than he anticipated.
