A24 has revealed the cast for the upcoming Elden Ring film adaptation directed by Alex Garland, and confirmed a theatrical release date of March 3, 2028.
Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus, Knives Out: Wake Up Dead Man) will lead the film. She will be joined by Ben Whishaw (the voice of Paddington and Q in the 007 films) and Nick Offerman (Bill in The Last of Us).
Production begins in the United Kingdom this week. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elden Ring could become the most large-scale and ambitious project in A24's history, with a budget that "significantly exceeds" $100 million.
George R. R. Martin, who worked on the lore and world of the original game alongside Hidetaka Miyazaki, is reported to be one of the producers.
As a reminder, The Blood of Dawnwalker from CD Projekt veterans is approaching its release.
