ESL Announce IEM Brazil 2027

Tournament organizer ESL has officially announced that an Intel Extreme Masters event will be held in Brazil in 2027. The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 3 to May 9, while the host city will be revealed at a later date.

The event will follow the traditional IEM format and feature a $1 million prize pool. A total of 16 teams will compete:

  • 11 teams will receive direct invitations based on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS).
  • 2 teams will qualify through the North and South American regional VRS rankings (one slot per region).
  • 3 teams will earn their places through qualifiers, with two advancing from global qualifiers and one from the Americas qualifier.

Alongside the announcement, ESL also revealed its current schedule of premier events for 2027:

  • IEM Krakow — January 27 to February 7
  • ESL Pro League Season 25 (Saudi Arabia) — March 6–14
  • IEM USA — April 5–11
  • IEM Brazil — May 3–9
  • Other ESL Event #5 — August 2–15
  • Other ESL Event #6 — September 23 to October 3
  • Other ESL Event #7 — October 30 to November 7

As previously reported, Microsoft is reportedly considering shutting down Arkane Studios and canceling Marvel's Blade.
