It has recently been announced that, due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the Esports Foundation has relocated the Esports World Cup 2026 from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to Paris, France.
Now it has been revealed that the Esports Foundation will invest approximately €250 million into organizing and hosting the event in Paris. The information was reported by Sheep Esports, citing an official statement from the Office of the President of France.
The Esports World Cup 2026 is scheduled to take place from July 6 to August 23.
This investment is intended to cover infrastructure, production, accommodation, transportation, broadcasting, opening and closing ceremonies, as well as fan engagement activities.
For France, hosting an event of this scale is expected to serve as a major economic driver. According to preliminary estimates from French authorities, the Esports World Cup could generate around €600 million in indirect economic impact for the country.
