The organizers of the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) have announced the launch of a new global initiative, EVO Locals, aimed at supporting organizers of local fighting game tournaments. As part of the project, the company will invest $1 million annually into the development of local esports communities worldwide.
Funding will be distributed through the EVO Locals Grants & Partnerships program. The allocated resources can be used for nearly any needs related to hosting tournaments.
The main goal of EVO Locals is to help activate regional fighting game communities, improve the quality of existing tournaments, or support the creation of new events.
Applications for grant funding will open in autumn 2026. Submissions will be reviewed by human evaluators rather than automated systems, and the depth of evaluation will depend on the amount of funding requested.
Reminder: The French Ministry of Sports and Esports World Cup organizers have signed a memorandum on the long-term development of esports.
