EWC 2026: Day 2 of Group Stage — First CS2 Playoff Spots

The second matchday of the Esports World Cup 2026 in Counter-Strike 2 will be decisive for many teams. The winners of today's upper bracket matches will immediately secure their spots in the playoffs, while for the losers, the path will become more difficult — they will have to win two matches in a row in the lower bracket.
Today, four matchups will take place between teams that started the tournament with victories (1–0):
14:00 — GamerLegion vs. JiJieHao: Following their sensational victory over Spirit, JiJieHao will try to prove that their success was no fluke. GamerLegion are considered the favorites due to their experience and stability.
16:55 — G2 vs. BIG: The main match for Ukrainian fans. The German club will test G2, where Ukrainian player r1nkle has already become one of the key factors in their successful start. A victory guarantees the team a direct spot in the next stage.
19:50 — Falcons vs. Astralis and FaZe vs. Legacy: The experienced FaZe and Falcons are the favorites in their pairings; however, Legacy have already shown their ability to surprise, while Astralis will try to test Falcons' strength.
In parallel, a fierce battle for survival in the tournament will unfold between the teams that suffered defeats on the first day:
16:55 — M8 vs. Aurora: A high-stakes elimination match. The losing team leaves EWC 2026 for good, while the winner moves on to the lower bracket final. Aurora looks like the favorite in terms of individual roster strength, but M8 have already demonstrated the ability to create problems for favorites.
Spirit vs. Luminosity: Following an unexpected upset by JiJieHao and a poor performance from sh1ro, the favorites Spirit lost their chance for a direct spot and are forced to fight their way through the lower bracket.
G2, Spirit, and Falcons have the best chances of advancing from their pairings. For G2, together with r1nkle, success in today's series will allow them to avoid exhausting lower bracket matches and immediately secure a place in the EWC 2026 playoffs.
