Vitality player Shahar flameZ Shushan gave an interview to Players correspondent Alex Kharchenko after the victory over MOUZ at the BLAST Open London 2025.

Good match for you. What helped you to show such a performance?

I think what happened is that we always had a plan coming into the rounds. In the rounds we didn't have a plan, we lost. So we kept on putting plans up and we believed in them and it worked out.

I think also individually we were shooting well. We missed the headshots for a long while now and today we had some good shots. I think mainly it was because we came with plans, we knew what we were going to do.

We didn't care if it was shit or it didn't make sense. We just went with it and believed in each other, so that was good.

You lost to MOUZ in Cologne. Did you change the preparation that led to today’s win?

I think other than picking Inferno instead of Train, we didn't really change the way we do practice stuff. I think we may have changed the way we do stuff individually. Some players do a different routine, some players do that.

But nothing for MOUZ, just to get better as players. There's nothing really that we do specifically for any team. Obviously for some teams we would change a bit how we play and we need to do a lot of different stuff.

But most of the teams that we play against 5-10 times this year, we already know how to play against them. And we just stick with what we have.

You mentioned that there are minor changes. Can you tell me what's the biggest change for you?

I wouldn't say it's a change, but it's more like some adjustment to fit some players more. There's nothing specific that we talk about as a team, but it's just more things that I would do on my own, that I would like to call, that I would like to do. To give those ideas and to keep repeating it to Apex. Sometimes as an IGL you think about all the pictures, and I might have something really good, so I'll repeat it and tell him, and tell him, and tell him. I will not leave him alone. And if he has a better plan, then I'm fine with that.

I'm just going to give him the options. And that's something that I think as a team would change. But individually for me, it's something that I needed to do more and push more. And I'm starting it now.

That's another final for you, but this time it feels a bit different. There was a hard start of the season. There were talks about the Vitality era compared to the Astralis era. How are you confident to win this tournament right now?

Well, we need to come and play as we did today with a lot of passion, a lot of energy, and a lot of plans. The focus is not on the trophy in some sense. It is obviously to win it. That's the goal. But the focus is to play good, to play competitive CS, to come and show what we know.

It's been a while since I did an interview like that and I'm happy. It's something that we just need to show up tomorrow. And we don't care who it's going to be, or if it's a final, semi, or a quarter. We just need to play as we know, and we'll do good.

I have a final question about king mezii. Did you have more motivation because you were playing in his home ground?

Well, I think for us it's something that is very key. Not many players would get the chance to play in their home country. My friends won the Paris Major, so they're lucky as f**k. Yeah, he knows. But for me and Robin [ropz], there's probably not high chances that we'll do a tournament in where we're from. So for now it's something that if a teammate is going to have a tournament in his place, we need to step up for him and we need to do our best. Because there's not many opportunities to play and all the crowd cheers for you. And no matter what you do, everybody loves it. So for William, last year we f**ked up in London. This year we want to redeem it and get a trophy for William.
