Epic Games has officially confirmed the release of the second wave of the Fortnite collaboration with the popular anime franchise Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. The new content will appear in the Item Shop on the night of August 7 at 3:00 AM Kyiv time and will be available for purchase for a limited time.
The main characters of the second wave will be Yoruichi Shihōin and Kisuke Urahara.
Alongside the character outfits, corresponding cosmetic items are expected to arrive in the game:
In addition to the new sets, a temporary return of the four Wave 1 skins — Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, and Orihime Inoue — is also possible in the game.
Even before its official release, the Yoruichi skin caused a stir online. A portion of the fan community positively evaluated Epic Games' decision to preserve the character's original figure and design from the anime. This case sparked discussion among players regarding potential model adjustments for other licensed heroes, such as Cammy (Street Fighter) or Kitana (Mortal Kombat), whose appearances in Fortnite were adapted in a more subdued style.
At the same time, opinions regarding the quality of the new skins were divided across thematic communities, particularly on Reddit. Some users pointed out unconvincing character eye animations and expressed the view that the overall execution of the models falls short of previous anime crossovers.
As a reminder, Which Sprites can be found in Fortnite Reload.
