The arcade racer Forza Horizon 6 is one of the most anticipated games of 2026. The new entry in the iconic series will take players to Japan for the first time, delivering major technical, visual, and gameplay improvements.
The game is scheduled to launch on May 19 with no delays. Microsoft and Playground Games have confirmed that the project has gone gold, meaning disc production has started and the release date is fully locked in.
Players who pre-order the Premium Edition will gain early access and can start racing through scenic Japanese locations on May 15.
Preloading is already available via the Microsoft Store, with Steam support coming soon.
Required storage space is as follows:
Xbox Series consoles will feature two performance modes. On Xbox Series X, players can choose between Quality mode in 4K at 30 FPS and Performance mode with dynamic 4K at a stable 60 FPS. On Xbox Series S, the game runs up to 1440p at 30 FPS in Quality mode and up to 1080p at 60 FPS in Performance mode.
Forza Horizon 6 will include the largest map in the series, with Tokyo being five times bigger than any previous city. At launch, the game will feature over 550 licensed cars, multiple online modes and activities, as well as a full single-player career.
The game will be available on Game Pass from day one, and a PlayStation 5 release is planned before the end of 2026.
