As part of the Fortnitemares 2026 Halloween event, a new boss — Freddy Krueger — has been added to Fortnite. Players can already battle the iconic character on the map and claim his Mythic weapon, although the full Outfit (skin) will arrive in the Item Shop a bit later.
Freddy Krueger spawns randomly in the new Nightmare Neighborhood zone, which is a direct reference to Elm Street from the A Nightmare on Elm Street movie franchise. Upon spotting a player, the boss utters voice lines recorded specifically for the game by original actor Robert Englund before immediately launching an attack.
The fight against Krueger is fairly standard for Fortnite bosses, yet it still requires caution. The main difficulty lies in the boss's ability to activate Nightmare Mode, allowing him to teleport, morph into the player's skin, and deal damage with his signature glove. For a quick victory, it is recommended to aim for the head and keep your distance using assault rifles or submachine guns.
Defeating the boss drops ammo, healing items, a 1-Up Token, and the main prize — the Mythic weapon "Freddy’s Nightmare."

The official release of the Freddy Krueger skin in the Fortnite Item Shop will take place on Saturday, October 3, at 03:00 EEST (Kyiv time) following the shop rotation. The outfit will be available for a limited time alongside the Freddy Fazbear character.
