On August 17, 2026, all five players of the Brazilian organization FURIA's women's roster announced a joint transition from Counter-Strike 2 to VALORANT. The team retained its current lineup and plans to continue competing on the professional scene, targeting participation in the Game Changers women's tournament series in the 2027 season.

The main reason for the change of discipline was the decline of the women's CS2 scene due to the lack of major tournaments. In October 2025, Saudi tournament operator ESL made the decision to suspend the ESL Impact tournament series after the conclusion of Season 8, citing the economic unfeasibility of the current model. The lack of prospects is forcing female esports athletes to transition to Riot Games' adjacent shooter. A few days before FURIA's announcement, Mayline "ASTRA" Champliaud, named the best female player of 2025 by HLTV, also announced a similar move.

FURIA representatives assured that the organization continues to invest in women's esports and strives for victories on the new scene. The team's decision sparked active discussion in the community, particularly from legendary Brazilian player Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo.

In his post on X, FalleN outlined two sides of this situation:

  • Critique of the CS2 ecosystem: The transition of leading female players to VALORANT is a sad reflection of the lack of interest and the inability of Valve, tournament operators, and viewers to find alternative ways for the women's CS scene to function.
  • Support for the players: The presence of an adjacent discipline is a positive factor, as it allows female athletes to continue their careers and compete at a high level against experienced opponents.

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's remark highlights an important aspect of the players' transition, as the VALORANT Game Changers women's scene has long been established and features an extremely competitive Brazilian regional division.
