FX Productions has officially revealed the main cast for the first season of its upcoming Far Cry TV series. Production has already begun, with Noah Hawley, the creator of Fargo and Alien: Earth, serving as the show's writer, showrunner, and director.

It was previously announced that Rob McElhenney, known for Mythic Quest and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, would serve as a co-writer and executive producer while also taking one of the lead roles. Steve Buscemi has also joined the project. He is best known for playing Nucky Thompson in Boardwalk Empire, a role that earned him two Emmy nominations. Buscemi has also appeared in Reservoir Dogs, The Big Lebowski, and Fargo.
Each season of Far Cry will tell a separate story featuring different characters and locations. The events will not be directly connected to the plots of Ubisoft's games.
Noah Hawley previously explained that simply retelling the games would not make much sense. Instead, the creators want to take the core concept of Far Cry and use it to tell something new.
The release date has not yet been announced. The series will stream on Hulu and Disney+.
