The G2 Esports roster defeated Natus Vincere in the lower bracket of the BLAST Open Porto 2026 group stage with a score of 2-0 — 13-6 on Ancient and 13-10 on Inferno. The defeat stripped NAVI of any chance to continue their performance and officially knocked the team out of the tournament.
The match began on NAVI's pick, Ancient, where G2 took control of the game early in the first half, ending their defense with a 9-3 lead. Despite Natus Vincere's attempts to mount a comeback after winning a force-buy, a 1vs3 clutch by Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko brought G2 six map points and an eventual 13-6 victory. On Inferno, G2 dominated the T side and pulled ahead to a 10-4 lead, but faced difficulties on defense. NAVI almost tied the game, closing the gap to 10-11, but Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač's squad secured the final rounds to close out the series.
Thanks to this victory, G2 moved to the lower bracket final, where they will compete for a playoff spot against the winner of the Aurora vs. M80 matchup.
For Natus Vincere, this is their second consecutive group-stage exit. Team captain Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen admitted in his post-match interview that the team lacks cohesion, and the results of their six-week grind proved unsatisfactory. The team now has just over two weeks to fix their mistakes before their next appearance at StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026, which kicks off on September 17.
