Over the past few days, the gaming community has been actively discussing rumors about a new DRM system from Sony, allegedly requiring regular internet connection. While some users initially doubted the accuracy of these claims, PlayStation has since partially confirmed them, though many details remain unclear.

According to available information, a system has been introduced on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 that checks licenses for digital games every 30 days. If the console is not connected to the internet during that period, access to certain titles may be temporarily restricted until it reconnects.

This has sparked backlash among players, who argue that such limitations are unfair, especially for single-player games they have already purchased. It is also noted that the change applies only to digital copies bought after the March system update.

However, additional support responses later suggested that games might still remain playable even after the 30-day period expires. The lack of an official public statement from Sony has only added to the confusion, while some gamers are already calling for a boycott of the company’s digital releases.

As a Reminder, Rumor has it that Sony and Universal are competing for the rights to a Metroid movie.
