The Coalition has shared new details about Gears of War: E-Day during a dedicated showcase following the Xbox Games Showcase. The developers confirmed that the campaign will once again be the main focus of the series, while Horde and Versus will remain key pillars of the experience after launch.
Creative director Matt Searcy revealed that the story campaign will be the longest in the studio’s history, exceeding 14 hours in length. Collectibles such as COG Tags will also make a return.
The team confirmed that every member of Bravo Squad will be playable throughout the campaign. New traversal mechanics, including jumping, are designed primarily for tactical positioning and environmental navigation rather than expanded character mobility.

The presentation also highlighted the return of the franchise’s multiplayer offerings. Horde Mode is coming back as Horde Siege, supporting up to 12 players divided into three squads. Battles will take place across locations inspired by the city of Kalona, the main setting of E-Day. The Coalition described the mode as a “dynamic evolution” of Horde and promised to reveal additional details in the near future.
Versus PvP will also return, sticking to the classic 4v4 format. Players can expect new symmetrical maps built around the game’s updated traversal mechanics.
In addition, an open multiplayer beta is scheduled for August. Players who pre-order the game will gain early access, while everyone else will be able to join a few days later without needing a pre-order. Based on the wording used during the presentation, the beta is also expected to include Horde content.
As a Reminder, Total Football Online Officially Launches on Steam.
