The upcoming release of GTA 6 appears set to face official bans and restrictions in several regions around the world. The information emerged following an update to the FAQ section on the game's PlayStation Store page, where Sony outlined the requirements for receiving a free bonus month of the GTA+ subscription.

According to the official PlayStation Store documentation, the following countries and territories are subject to restrictions:

  • Bahrain
  • Qatar
  • China
  • Kuwait
  • Lebanon
  • Oman
  • Russian Federation
  • Taiwan

For users in these regions, the official purchase of physical copies through domestic retail channels will not be possible. However, these restrictions do not necessarily mean a complete block on access to the title. Players interested in GTA VI will likely need to either import physical copies from other countries or purchase digital versions through accounts registered in regions where no such restrictions are in place.

The official reasons behind the potential bans have not yet been disclosed. However, such restrictions are not unusual for the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Games in the series have traditionally featured elements such as violence, alcohol consumption, gambling, and sexual content.

As a reminder, Riot Games recently announced League of Legends Classic.
