In High on Life 2, Kreg Button is a prominent story boss who appears at the conclusion of the «Eliminate Billionaire Larry Pinkstock» mission. After uncovering the truth behind Larry Pinkstock’s death, the Button’s Gluttons gang ambushes you aboard the cruise ship. The final challenge before escaping safely is facing Kreg Button, the gang’s leader.
Although this battle is not extremely difficult, it can catch some players off guard since it’s one of the first major boss fights in the game, especially on higher difficulty settings where mistakes are costly.
When the fight begins, Kreg mounts his flying companion Peepee Boy and circles the cruise ship while attacking from the air. Most of the confrontation takes place at mid to long range because Kreg avoids landing until the fight’s final stage.
The main obstacle is the high damage output of his attacks — even a single hit can be lethal on harder difficulties. Otherwise, it’s a straightforward shootout. Staying alert and dodging his attacks carefully will help you claim victory.
If your character dies, the game will reload from the last checkpoint, which is set just before the boss fight starts.
Phase 1: Peepee Boy
At the start, Kreg attacks from above using his flying mount, dealing damage from a distance.
Phase 2: On Foot
Once Kreg’s health drops to around 15-20%, the massive sea creature Gessie crashes into the ship, crushing Peepee Boy. Kreg is then forced to fight on foot. At this stage, he only has access to his personal attacks, and with his low health, he can be defeated quickly.
If you previously defeated Senator Muppy Doo, you will have unlocked Sheath, a mid-range assault rifle perfect for this encounter. Travis is another strong choice due to its rapid-fire capability, allowing you to land multiple hits efficiently.
Sweezy is also dependable because her Time Bubble and charge shot are particularly useful during this battle. Gus is less effective during the flying phase but becomes valuable once Kreg is grounded.
