Famous esports host and commentator James Banks shared his expectations for NAVI’s performance at the Esports World Cup 2026 in Counter-Strike 2.

In his post on X, Banks noted that he is interested to see what NAVI will be capable of at this tournament.

According to him, the team skipped BLAST Bounty and got the opportunity to hold an extended bootcamp, which, in his opinion, could have a positive impact on the team’s preparation.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing what NAVI can show at this tournament. They skipped Bounty, had an extended bootcamp. Expecting…” — Banks wrote.

For NAVI, EWC 2026 is an important test after the break associated with skipping BLAST Bounty. The main stage of the tournament started on August 12, with all group stage matches being played in a BO1 format.

Banks’ words attracted attention precisely because of the context of NAVI’s preparation: the team received additional time to practice instead of participating in Bounty, and now has to prove the effectiveness of this approach directly on LAN.

Whether NAVI’s decision to focus on additional preparation will pay off will become clear by the end of EWC 2026.

As a reminder, Sensation at the Esports World Cup: JiJieHao defeated Spirit in the opening BO1 series.
